Scientology YouTube Channel “Meet a Scientologist” Videos Reach 100

Church of Scientology International

Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) September 25, 2009

The Church of Scientology YouTube Channel has broadened its “Meet a Scientologist” mini-documentaries online, with 40 new videos bringing the total number to 100. In the documentary video clips, members of the Church of Scientology from across the United States and cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, London, Berlin, Milano, Budapest, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Kaohsiung, Copenhagen, and Malmo, share a look at their lives. The “Meet a Scientologist” videos are part of the Church’s continuing online informational program.

These unique, rapid-fire interviews show Scientologists from many professions at home and work and include unusual sights, such as a stunt pilot at work in his plane, the studio of a film robotics expert, skydivers jumping from planes and a professional entertainer juggling with a running chain saw. There are also mothers, fathers, store managers and owners, teachers, dentists, musicians, an IT manager, and a bus driver.

The “Meet a Scientologist” video series is new to the Church of Scientology YouTube Channel, added on August 18. The production schedule for the series will bring the number of documentary videos up to 150 in the immediate future. Concurrently, the Church of Scientology is separately conducting a cross-platform ad campaign on spiritual values that includes Internet and video ads, as well as television commercials on MTV, Discovery, ESPN2, The Learning Channel, CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, Fox Sports, and others.

A pioneer and leader in the online religious community, in April 2008 the Church of Scientology became the first religion to create its own YouTube Video Channel. With broadcast-quality videos and an unique video player, it has been seen by over 2.2 million visitors.

VIACK Releases New Version of VIA3 Assured Collaboration Service

VIACK Releases New Version of VIA3 Assured Collaboration Service

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (PRWEB) February 8, 2006

VIACK, a leading authority on secure web collaboration and communications, today released the latest version of its flagship, VIA3 Assured Collaboration Service. The new version brings marked enhancements to video conferencing, audio conferencing and usability, along with a significant reduction in bandwidth to meet today’s needs for quality secure online communications.

“At VIACK, we work closely with our clients to consistently monitor their secure web collaboration needs and obtain feedback on VIA3’s quality and usability to assess areas for improvement,” told Amy Fadida, fourth-year vice president for VIACK Corporation. “Based on this assessment, we updated the information sharing software product’s most used featured to provide greater functionality for their secure online communications.”

According to Fadida, the ability to observe non-verbal communications in a VIA3 meeting is an essential aspect of the web conferencing driving, as visual cues can greatly affect one’s communication. In addition to enhancing the video image quality in VIA3, Fadida says the company reduced the bandwidth needed by up to 50 percent. This reduction allows users with slower connections to receive a remarkably clear video image.

The reduction in bandwidth is owed to the video conferencing software’s use of H.264, a next-generation video compression technology. According to Fadida, this technology, too known as MPEG-4 Part 10, gives VIA3 the capability to mechanically equip the advantageous compression asked for a raised video conferencing experience.

In addition to improving the video image, VIACK expanded on VIA3’s telephone-choice audio by incorporating the next audio conferencing improvements:

Automatic Gain Control (AGC), which automatically adjusts microphone levels for speaking volume throughout a meeting, allowing participants to concentrating on meeting content rather than adjusting audio levels for themselves and other online meeting participants.     Built-in echo cancellation, which reduces ambient resounded often detected by microphones, and leading to an accrued in audio clarity and accuracy.

To complement the audio conferencing and video conferencing improvements, VIACK added overall usability enhancements, including greater flexibility in managing contacts and the ability to customize the desktop appearance of secure online meetings. The newest enhancement to contact management allows the VIA3 user to create ‘groups’ of contacts to invite to meetings rather than each contact one at a time. VIA3 users are also given a choice of meeting layout options. The Multi-task Layout positions the online meeting manager window on the left side of the screen, with all applications and documents opening next to the meeting window, for easy multi-tasking. Alternately, the Classic Layout allows the user to resize and move the meeting window anywhere on the desktop, resizing and repositioning the window as needed.

Enhancements were also make to the whiteboard capability in VIA3, including the addition of a laser pointer, improved page navigation and zooming capabilities of up to 500 percent.

Internet MegaMeeting, LLC, provider of world-class cloud-based online conferencing technologies, today released ‘M3’, the latest version of the MegaMeeting.com Web and Video Conferencing product line.

The ‘M3’ application has an expanded and more powerful Application Programming Interface (API), allowing for tighter integration and customization with an already-existing or to-be-built offering. Commenting on the advantages of the M3 release, Scott Goldman, MegaMeeting.com’s CTO, stated “For ‘Private Branded’ customers, the MegaMeeting.com team of engineer can provide custom interface programming in order to deliver best-in-classify video conferencing technologies to a whole host of perpendicular industries. Being browser-based, having ultimate flexibility and providing the best tech support will always be part of our advantage!”

However, the ‘M3’ release hosts a slew of new advanced features as good – from a completely redesigned, intuitive icon-based user-interface to the ability to conduct meetings in multiple languages, ‘M3’ meets the needs of businesses in all shapes and sizes.

Speaking to the most exciting part of the unexampled release, Scott Goldman declared, “I am thrilled we will soon be able to deliver the video conferencing ‘toaster’ to just about any kind of industry, with powerful customizable tools allowing for full integration into a stopping-user’s corporate network and/or existing offering. It’s also exciting that we are able to run on android powered cell phones as well. Handheld devices are no longer ‘the future’ – they are the here and now!”

Skype Falls Short as a Web Conferencing Tool for Everyday Business Use Says webconferencing-test.com

Skype Falls Short as a Web Conferencing Tool for Everyday Business Use Says webconferencing-test.com

Frankfurt (PRWEB) October 15, 2010

The Internet telephony and chat application Skype is not really suitable for online business meetings and web conferencing. That is the conclusion of the testing portal webconferencing-test.com, which has taken a closer look at the new version of Skype. Skype ranked near the bottom on account of its limited desktop sharing/screen sharing capabilities, and the lack of features for planning and inviting participants to online conferences.

Webconferencing-test.com chose to include Skype in its ranking system because the VoIP provider recently expanded its functionality to make it more attractive to business users. The main innovation is the ability to share desktops with other Skype users. While Skype version 5 now allows up to ten users to take part in a video call (previously only two), the new release is a disappointment when it comes to online business meetings: The far more important desktop-sharing feature stayed restricted to just two users.

Skype also lost points because online meetings can still only be convened on the fly, and the system requires both Skype users to be logged on simultaneously. Because Skype does not offer netting-conference planning, it comes as no surprise that users cannot send invitation emails, along with calendar entries, to their Skype contacts. Most other popular web conferencing tools provide this.

An overview of Skype’s performance across all assessment categories can be found at webconferencing-test.com. For a discussion of the background and details of the Skype test, see the test portal blog.

http://www.webconferencing-test.com

The portal provides a vendor-independent assessment of online meeting tools for smaller and medium-sized companies and the self-employed. It compares the functional scope of more than 30 solutions and judges how well they meet real-world needs. The portal is run by Publicare Marketing Communications GmbH, an online marketing agency based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Webconferencing-test.com: Which Web conferencing solution is the best?

Webconferencing-test.com: Which Web conferencing solution is the best?

Frankfurt/Germany (PRWEB) November 10, 2006

The first Website to provide a vendor-independent assessment of online meeting tools has now gone live at Webconferencing-test.com (http://www.webconferencing-test.com). The portal provides comparisons of all leading solutions – including Microsoft Live Meeting, Macromedia Breeze (now called Acrobat Connect Professional) Webex, and GoToMeeting from Citrix.

Online meetings used to be costly affairs, relying on video-service and telecoms companies. But that has now changed. Thanks to increasing competition, the growing popularity of PC-based technologies, and a wide choice of providers, today’s solutions are more user-friendly and more affordable. In fact, they are now commonplace office tools. Web conferencing is, for example, typically used for phone- and Internet-based customer and employee meetings, online training and support.

The portal not only compares the functional scope of online meeting tools, it also judges how well they meet real-world needs. Analysis is based on key user requirements such as ease-of-use, security and cost. For example, the need for training is assessed, and how easy it is to organize spontaneous online meetings.

Webconferencing-test.com (http://www.webconferencing-test.com) compares the potential savings offered by each of the tools in comparison to conventional, on-site meetings. It also reviews pricing policy and cost transparency. While some solutions offer a flat rate, others have complex pricing models based on multiple components.

Over the past decade, Cenero has built a service-focused business model delivering audio visual solutions to large corporations and institutions. With Auralink, Cenero focuses their customer service business model to the application audio visual market.

“Our customers’ use of video conferencing technology has exploded in the past year. With Auralink we are addressing the need for companies to meet at the desk top and beyond even down to the mobile device. Auralink users can participate in high quality video conferences regardless of location without having to purchase expensive and often short lived hardware” says Rob Gilfillan, President of Cenero.

Auralink is a feature rich subscription based service that allows users to connect via video from virtually anywhere. Auralink users can connect to legacy video conferencing equipment, share applications, add audio only participants and record meetings. The applications are extensive and Auralink has had a positive impact for Cenero clients.

As opposed to other web conferencing options, Auralink’s video quality made me feel as though I was sitting across the table with my team.”

“The technology behind Auralink allows us to provide a solution that fits corporate demand for a high quality video experience” says Michael Cosgrave, Auralink Product Manager. “The quality of the video in an Auralink call is far superior to that of Skype or other similar online standard definition platforms.
