MegaMeeting.com Helps the Navigators Bring Together Dispersed Teams

MegaMeeting.com Helps the Navigators Bring Together Dispersed Teams

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 10, 2012

Communication is a key component to any successful nonprofit organization, especially those who serve on a global level. Unfortunately, reaching out and staying in touch with teams scattered across the world is extremely costly and takes up a lot of time, something which most nonprofit organizations just don’t have enough of these days. That’s why many organizations are turning to new and innovative ways of communication through web and video conferencing.

The Navigators®, a nonprofit international, interdenominational Christian ministry helping people across the world “navigate” life through life-on-life mentoring programs, is one of those nonprofits who are taking steps to achieve better communication at a lower cost. Recently, The Navigators® did away with their traditional means of communication (which took place over conference calls) and turned to MegaMeeting.com’s web-based video conferencing.

Used by the training department, organization executives and disperse field reps to conduct company seminars, meetings and employee training, the video conferencing services provided by MegaMeeting.com have already been paying off. Since implementing MegaMeeting.com’s services, The Navigators® have been able to save money by leaving their teams in place and holding video conferences over the internet, instead of bringing staff members and volunteers to one general location. The company has also been able to save time and increase company productivity by eliminating several unneeded trips per year. “MegaMeeting.com has allowed us to begin small group trainings and seminars, which we were not able to do before due to the time and money that would have been required to bring teams together,” stated Mark Coyne, Director of Field Operations and Technology at The Navigators®.

When looking for a video conference service provider, one requirement of The Navigators® was to be able to have up to sixteen video connections in a meeting at the same time. Another requirement was having a system that was easy to use and setup. MegaMeeting was able to meet these needs.

Other features within MegaMeeting.com getting put to use by The Navigators® is the ability to show PowerPoint presentations inside a meeting, share computer screens or desktops and integrated teleconferencing. “We are using MegaMeeting.com in a number of small group situations. Participants view a video ahead of time and then have a discussion over the internet using MegaMeeting,” Mark Coyne went on to say. “I believe we will continue to expand our use of MegaMeeting as we do more training, mentoring and have meetings with dispersed participants. Being able to view the participants adds a significant component to connecting with others during the meeting.”

What kind of LCD home projector can I find with these specs?

Question by steelhead3686: What kind of LCD home projector can I find with these specs?
I’m looking for one that has: Composite video input, audio output, RCA input, laptop/computer input (mac preferably), 1024 X 728 minimum resolution, manual zoom lens 1:1.6, and aspect ratio 4:3, 16:9, and maybe even 5:4. I’m looking for these things within $ 600. I’ve found some that come very close and I’m just curious if anyone knows of a projector that meets all of the specs I’m looking for. If not all what projector would you recommend for the same price range with similar specs? Must at least have audio out, RCA or equivalent, and composite video ( or whatever you call the video to plug in a computer) I’m pretty sure it’s called composite. Thanks.

Questions about audio tape recording IEP meetings….?

Question by Mama J.: Questions about audio tape recording IEP meetings….?
I had sent a letter of intent to audio tape record all futue IEP meetings at my DS’s school. This is the letter the school district sent back to me: “Please accept this letter of confirmation that I have received your typewritten correspondence indicating your intent to “tape record” all future IEP meetings and other meetings regarding the educational placement of your son, C. Please be advised that IDEA Part B (§§300.560-300.575) does not address the use of audio or video recording devices at IEP meetings, and no other Federal statuteeither authorizes or prohibits the recording of an IEP meeting by either a parent or a school official. The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the school district’s denial of your request to “tape record” any and all meetings that take place on our campus or that involve ___________ Regional School District Personnel who are performing duties associated with their professional positions. Please note that our district is committed to making any reasonable accommodation for you to fully understandinformation that is presented at any meeting held on C’s behalf. Should you feel that you need a translator, amplification device, or any other accommodation please do not hesitate to call my office”. Questions: Is it legal for them to deny my request? If I request a school policy which denies tape recoring do they have to show me one? I read that they can not allow one family to tape record, but deny another families request. How can I be sure that is not happening? We live in MA
